Blog on the Tyne

Gran and Grandad came up today and we decided to take George into Newcastle for the first time. We parked at the Gateshead side and walked over the Millenium bridge. We then walked along the Quayside to the Slug and Lettuce for some lunch.

Breakfast

George had no trouble sleeping in his cot bed last night. He slept from 7.30pm until 2am, we should have woken him for a feed around 10 and perhaps he would have slept through the night.

So far so good....

George has been so much happier today and seemed to really enjoy his trip to the doctors.

He has had all his naps in his cot bed today and we are going to see if he will sleep in there tonight.

Daddy on holiday

It was a very eventful first day off for Daddy yesterday. George was very uncomfortable and unsettled all day, we are taking him to the doctors today to make sure everything is ok with his feeding.

We went to Nan's house for lunch yesterday.

This morning we have all been to Mothercare to get some new better bottles for George. We have also decided to change his formula to Cow and Gate Comfort (for sensitive tummies). Finger crossed we will see some improvement soon.

Back home

We travelled home yesterday afternoon after a lovely weekend in Stockton. We didn't get the chance to go out much as the weather was not very nice but luckily the weather was ok on Saturday so we could have a bbq.

Gran and Grandad came round for a Chinese takeaway last night. It took a while for George to settle last night but once he did he slept until 5.30am.

Travel cot

George doesn't seem to be effected by having a new cot to sleep in. He has had two good nights sleep in his travel cot.

This morning we went for a walk to the supermarket. Aunty Sarah and Uncle Mark came round for a bbq in the afternoon.

George has just had his night time bath.

Return to Stockton

On Friday night we travelled to Stockton and went to Great Grandma's for tea.

Shake, Rattle but no roll

George had a good sleep last night and didn't wake until 5 for a feed.

He has got really good at holding his rattle today. He held it for about 10 minutes and can even shake it around.

Play gym

George fell asleep after his tea time bottle last night and didn't wake up for another feed. I think we should have woken him around 10 as he woke up during the night and then again at 5.

He is getting really good at kicking the toys on his play gym...

But it is hard work....

Trouble at Tummy Time

George was unsettled yesterday morning so I decided it would be better to take him out. We went down to Nan's house for fish and chips and then went to Tummy Time. He cried through most of Tummy time but did have a bit of time on the play mats.

He went to sleep at about 9.30 last night and didn't wake until 6 this morning.

Spot the dog

George and I went to Nan's house for lunch today. We then decided to go down to retail world to get some new baby grows for George. We also went to Starbucks in Borders for a drink, and bought George some Spot the Dog books that came with a Spot the Dog toy.

Nursery

While the boys were watching the football, Gran and I decided to tidy up George's nursery.

FA Cup final

Gran, Grandad and Uncle Boggle came round today to watch the FA cup final. They were not very impressed with the quality of the football.

Mobile at night

George was very unsettled yesterday afternoon until about 11.30pm. He did seem very impressed with his new mobile especially when it lights up on the ceiling.

He slept through again until 5.30am

Yet another busy day

Gran came to visit today and we decided to go to Babies r us to buy George a cot mobile. I also bought him a new little toy. We then went over to the Metro Centre (again!) and had a bite to eat in the Debenhams cafe, which was ok but a bit noisy.

When we got home we realised that the mobile needed batteries so we popped to Stanley to get some.

Then we went to the baby clinic to get George weighed. He has not put much on this week and his new weight is 11lbs 10oz.

Last night

The bedtime routine wasn't as successful last night, I think he had slept too much during the day. George had his bath and story (Paddington goes to the fair) but was unsettled until about 10.30pm. He didn't wake until 5.30am this morning.

Travel lodge

Last night we met Aunty Sarah and Uncle Mark at the Travel lodge restaurant at Newcastle Airport. It was the first time we have taken George to a restaurant on an evening and he behaved very well.

He went to sleep around 10 and didn't wake until 5am.
